Edcouch, Tx – – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Antonia Torres de Rodriguez, who passed on December 25, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

Antonia was a hardworking and devoted single mother whose life was defined by strength, sacrifice, and love. She walked miles—without complaint—to provide for her children and faithfully serve her clients. Antonia was always putting others before herself. Her determination and work ethic were unmatched, and her children were the center of her world.

Strong in spirit and strong in will, Antonia was known for her talkative nature and her ability to make people laugh. Antonia’s presence filled any room with warmth, stories, and genuine connection to people. She had a gift for turning ordinary moments into memories filled with laughter.

A wonderful cook, Antonia expressed her love through food, especially her homemade tamales, which brought family and friends together time and time again. Those meals were more than nourishment—they were expressions of her care, culture, and heart.

Above all, Antonia will be remembered as a woman who never gave up, who worked tirelessly for her family, and who left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her legacy lives on through her children, the lives she touched, and the love she shared so generously.

Mrs. Antonia Torres de Rodríguez is survived by her loving children; Josefina Rodríguez (Mario Castellanos), Lorena Rodríguez (Herman Campos), Francisco Alvarado Jr., Miguel Alvarado, Antonio Alvarado (Esmeralda Muñoz), Rosa Alvarado (Jesús Gaspar), 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Antonia is preceded in death by her parents; Pantaleon and Teodora Torres.

The Family of Mrs. Antonia Torres de Rodriguez would like to invite all her family and friends to her visitation on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 2:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Antonia will continue visitation on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. with her Chapel service to start at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Antonia will be having her interment at Anahuac Community cemetery in Edcouch, following the chapel service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.
