Elsa, Tx – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Arnulfo Gonzalez, a devoted man of strength, integrity, and compassion, who passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 65

Arnulfo was born in 1959 in Edinburg, Texas, to Casimiro and Ramona Gonzalez. From a young age, he exemplified the values that would define his life: the outdoors, hard work, and profound respect for everyone and everything he did.

Mr. Arnulfo Gonzalez was a dedicated public servant who proudly worked for the City of McAllen for 28 years. His commitment and strong work ethic left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community he served.

A man of many passions, Arnulfo had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether it was fishing, hiking, camping, or simply enjoying nature’s peace, he found joy and freedom in every adventure. His zest for life and exploration was matched only by the love he had for his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he was the heart of every gathering—always ready with a warm smile, a story, or a helping hand.

Arnulfo was married to his beloved wife, Delia Gonzalez, for 42 wonderful years. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love, strength, and partnership, built on a lifetime of memories and mutual devotion.

Mr. Arnulfo Gonzalez is survived by his wife Delia Gonalez, his loving children; Arnulfo Gonzalez Jr. (Brenda), Maria Christina Gonzalez, Eduardo Gonzalez (Maria Adela), Brian Gonzalez (Lizeth), 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, who brought him endless pride and joy.

He is also survived by his siblings; Blasita Gonzalez, Rosie Groves, Sofia Songer, Lupita Silva, Sylvia Gonzalez, and Patty Rodriguez.

Arnulfo Gonzalez’s memory will be cherished and carried forward by the many lives he touched. His quiet strength, humility, and love for others remain a lasting gift to all who knew him.

The Family of Mr. Arnulfo Gonzalez humbly invites family and friends to attend his visitation on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home in Elsa, Texas. Visitation will continue Friday, July 25, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa, Texas with Burial to follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Donna, Texas.   Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.
