Ausencio Nuñez

Progreso - Ausencio Nuñez, 80, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX.  Mr. Nuñez was on December 21st, 1939 in born in Tehul de Gonzalez Ortega, Zacatecas, Mexico. To Santiago Nuñez and Guadalupe Casillas.  Mr. Nuñez is survived by his loving children, Juan Nuñez, Noe Nuñez, Esteban Nuñez, Dalia Gonzalez, Rene Nuñez, Abraham Nuñez, 22 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brothers Jose Reyes Nuñez, and Jesus Nuñez, and sister Maria Jacobo.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Magdalena Nuñez, parents, and son, Ausencio Nuñez Jr.

Visitation for Mr. Nuñez will be Tuesday, July 21st, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM at Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.  Chapel service will be Wednesday, July 22nd, 2020 at Eternal Light Funeral Home.  Interment will follow to Weslaco City Cemetery in Weslaco, TX. Pallbearers will be sons, Juan Nuñez, Esteban Nuñez, Rene Nuñez, Abraham Nuñez, Grandsons, Noe Nuñez, and Juan Gonzalez Jr.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX. Due to the updated COVID-19 mandates we are allowing 75 individuals at this time. A mask or facial covering is required when entering the funeral home.
