David Salinas

Edinburg - David Salinas, 64, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband and father he dedicated 21 years of hard work as a maintenance man at South Texas Community College. He loved being productive and seeing all the young people striving to make life better for themselves.

 Mr. Salinas true passion was working on fast cars. Whether he was under the hood of a car, sharing stories about classic muscle cars, or blasting his favorite tunes in the garage, David lived life with a deep love for speed and sound. His hands were rarely still, always fixing, building, or fine-tuning something. He had a knack for bringing old engines back to life and a heart that never stopped giving to those he loved.

Above all, David cherished his family. His children, grandchildren and loved ones will forever remember his wisdom, his laughter, and the way he could make even the toughest days a little bit brighter.

He is survived by his loving Wife, Dalia Salinas, his children, David Leo Salinas (Corina), Jessica Marie Salinas (Andy de la Cruz), Jazmin Salinas (Alec Flores), Jackie Renae Garza (Micheal Garza), Joey Izquierdo (Maritza Jasso), Step children, Manuel Ramirez, Mandy Ramirez (Chad Tineo), Joshue Ramirez, 17 grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, his siblings: Edna Saenz (Lupe Saenz), Hilda Henisa (John), Susana Garcia, Cynthia Estevanes (Eddie), Rolando Salinas, Ronaldo Salinas (Mary Isabel Salinas), Ruth Luna (Javier Rendon), and countless friends who will miss him dearly. Mr. Salinas is preceded in death by his parents Eradio and Rebecca Salinas, a brother Eradio Salinas Jr., and a sister Nelda Salinas.  Though he may no longer be here in body, his spirit lives on in every revving engine, every favorite song, and every memory he left behind.

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m.at Eternal Light Funeral home. Mr. David Salinas will also be having visitation on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. with another Prayers service at 7:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home. Mr. David Salinas will b cremated at a later date.

Rest easy, David. May your road be smooth, your engine loud, and your music never-ending.
