Eleasar (Alex) Zamaniego, 68, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his children and family.
Eleasar was born in La Blanca, Texas on September 15th, 1953. He grew up helping his grandmother run her farm in Mexico. In 1973, he made his way north with friends to live and work. He settled in Frankfort, IN working in factories all his adult life. He met his wife Kim in Lafayette, IN.
Eleasar and Kim have four children and they survive: Nolan of Lafayette, Indiana; Dani of Atlanta, Georgia; Adrian of Lafayette, Indiana; and Aleahea of Atlanta, Georgia.
Eleasar was a laid back man who enjoyed having a good time and telling silly jokes and stories. He loved the Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys, and futbol (soccer). He enjoyed playing cards, especially Skip-Bo. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was the king of bingo at St. Anthony’s nursing home.
He enjoyed dancing and listening to Los Tigres del Norte along with Selena. He had a passion for cooking and was always eager to feed everyone. Working on cars was a fun hobby, and he was always tinkering with his friend Ray on car projects.
He had seven siblings: Andres, Viviano, Leonardo, Gerardo, Maria Santos, Maria De Los Angeles, and Maria Del Rosario.
Preceding him in death are his parents Primitiva and Simon, and his siblings Andres, Leonardo, Gerardo, Maria Santos, and Maria Del Rosario.
The family would like to invite Mr. Zamaniego’s friends and family to celebrate his life with a viewing on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. here at Eternal Light Funeral Home in Elsa, Texas. There will also be a chapel service held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Internment will follow to La Blanca Community Cemetery in La Blanca, Texas. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Eternal Light Funeral Home in Elsa, Texas.
