Edcouch, Tx – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Ernesto Resendez, who passed away on January 21, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.  Ernesto Resendez was a caring, hard-working, family-oriented man. He took great pride in providing for and protecting those he loved, always putting his family first and supporting them with unwavering loyalty.

Ernesto found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved to barbecue and was especially known for smoking briskets that brought family and friends together. When he wasn't tending the grill, he could often be found working on his bike, listening to his favorite music, or enjoying a good video game. These moments reflected his easygoing spirit and the happiness he found doing what he loved.

Above all, Ernesto will be remembered for his big heart, strong work ethic, and the love he shared so freely with his family. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Ernesto Resendez is survived by his mother San Juana Resendez, siblings; Susana Resendez, Francisco Fabián Resendez (Jessica G. Resendez), Elizabeth Resendez and nephews; Jesús Christian Rojas, Alejandro Uriel Rojas, Maurico Gael Rojas and Asael Gabino Cabrales. Mr. Ernesto Resendez was preceded in death by his father, Juan Francisco Resendez. Funeral arrangements have been handled by Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.

The family of Mr. Ernesto Resendez would like to invite everyone to the celebration of his life on Monday, January 26, 2026, with a wake from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Eternal Light Funeral Home. Mr. Ernesto Resendez will continue the visit on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with his funeral Mass beginning at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph of the Worker Catholic Church in Edinburg, Texas. Mr. Ernesto Resendez will be buried at Val Vede Memorial Garden Cemetery, in Donna, Texas, on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026 following his funeral Mass. Funeral arrangements have been handled by Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.
