Hargill,Tx -Eva Davila Garate, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in McAllen, Tx on February 5, 2021. She was born on July 19, 1936 in Mathis, Tx, was raised in Hargill, Tx, lived most of her life in Monte Alto, Tx, and her final years in McAllen, Tx. She graduated from Edinburg High School and went on to work for USDA until retirement. She is preceded in death by her parents, Benita Cavazos Davila and Amado Davila, Sr.; and her husband, Carlos Garate, to whom she was married for 50 years.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Jessica Garate of Boerne, Tx and Erica (Salvador) Ulloa of Edinburg, Tx; three grandchildren, Jenna Alexys (Paolo) Longoria of San Antonio, Tx, Josiah Omar (Makayla) Villalon of Mission, Tx, and Joelle Kristine Villalon of Houston, Tx; and three great-granddaughters, Maya Magdalene Villalon, Mila Josephine Villalon, and Juliana Elise Villalon, all of Mission, Tx. She is also survived by her younger brother, Amado (Nora) Davila, Jr. of Pleasanton, Tx, and many nieces and nephews that love her dearly.
Family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home 201 North Broadway in Elsa, Texas. Funeral mass will be on Wednesday, February 10, 2021at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Hargill, Texas. Interment will follow at Valle De La Paz Cemetery in Hargill, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, Texas. Due to the updated COVID-19 mandates we are allowing 45 individuals at this time.
