Mercedes Tx- Mr. Fidel Luna, 82, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.

Mr. Fidel Luna was born on March 23, 1944 in Rio Rico Tamaulipas, Mexico to Alejo and Julia Luna. Fidel grew up embodying the values of hard work, resilience, and loyalty. Over the course of his life, he wore many hats: a spouse, a loving father to his beloved children, and an adored grandfather to his grandchildren.

Fidel was a humble and hardworking man whose life was defined by his noble heart and respectful nature. He carried himself with quiet strength, earning the admiration of all who knew him. A true family man, he believed deeply in providing, protecting, and being present for those he loved. His strong character, steady work ethic, and unwavering values left a lasting impression on his children, grandchildren, and everyone blessed to have met him.

When Fidel had free time, his passion was listening and creating music. Music created a space filled with warmth, laughter, and countless memories. His hands were never idle—whether crafting, repairing, or helping others, his hard work and ingenuity knew no bounds.

Fidel is survived by his loving children; Alejandro Luna, Valente Luna, José Francisco Luna (Aracely), Salvador Luna, María Antonia Luna (Domingo Sánchez), Daniel Luna, (Linda), Lisbet Luna (Margarito Avila), Antonio Luna, 18 grandchildren, Sibling; Alicia Gonzales, Guadalupe Luna, and Niece, Miriam Coronado. He is preceded in death by his parents Alejo and Julia Luna, Sons; Benito Luna, Guillermo Luna, and brothers; Bentio Luna, Pedro Luna, and Miguel Luna.

Services to honor Fidel Luna’s life will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Fidel Luna’s services will continue on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 with his graveside service at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, Texas. Funeral arraignments have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, Texas.
