Gabriel Guerra Jr.

Mr. Gabriel (Gabe) Guerra Jr., 69, of Monte Alto, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025 at Knapp Medical Center, in Weslaco, Texas. Born and raised in Monte Alto, Gabriel was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and deep love for his family.

Gabe made his living as a dedicated truck driver, a profession that reflected his perseverance and commitment. Whether on the road or at home, he took pride in providing for his loved ones and setting an example of hard work and responsibility.

A devoted father, Gabe was blessed with five children, Alfonso Montes (Norma) (Lasara, TX),  Juan Carlos Montes (Southwest City, MO), Ruby Guerra (Grove, OK), Gabriel Guerra III (Jessica) (Carl Junction, Mo), Gabriela Guerra (Salome Zamora)(Goodman MO), Grandchildren; Pablo, Kobe, Justyce, Jaden, Christian, Angel, Joeh, Yzabelle, Jaqueline, Jasmine, Alaina, Gabriel IV, Deorica, Vanessa, Caylee, great grandchildren; Myla and Myles. whom he cherished deeply. He also leaves behind six loving siblings; Rene Guerra, Ricardo Guerra, Ramiro Guerra, Baldemar Guerra, Eufemio Guerra, Alicia Reyes, who will remember him for his kindness, steady presence, and genuine heart. He was preceded in death by his parents Gabriel and Eustolia Guerra and siblings Pedro Guerra, Amelia, Antonia, Marta, and Aida.

Outside of work, Gabe found joy in the simple things— he was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, faithfully supporting his team from the Tony Dorsett era and beyond.

Gabriel Guerra Jr.  will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 3 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home in Elsa, Texas. Mr. Gabriel Guerra Jr.  will be cremated at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Eternal Light Funeral Home in Elsa, Texas.
