Guadalupe Cerda

La Villa–Guadalupe Cerda went to be with the Lord on Monday September 26, 2022 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas at the age of 90. Mrs. Cerda was born on October 24, 1931 in Edcouch, Texas to Patricio Martinez and Juanita Aleman.

Mrs. Cerda is survived by her loving children; Juan Cerda (Rita), Gregoria Nunez (Margarito), Rosa Reyes (Leonardo), Isidro Cerda (Rosalinda), Pedro Cerda (Idalia), Benancio Cerda Jr. (Sandra), Estela Cerda Rodriguez (Dagoberto), Diana Cerda Saldana (Homer), and Zacarias Rodriguez. Mrs. Cerda also leaves her sister; Socorro Acuna as well as, 53 grandchildren, 101 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren to remember her. Mrs. Cerda is preceded in death by her husband Benancio Cerda as well as their son Aniceto Cerda. She is also preceded by her grandchildren; Aniceto Cerda Jr., Gerardo Reyes, Gerardo Reyes, and Hermelinda Reyes.

The family would like to invite Mrs. Cerda’s friends and family to a wake in her honor on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Iglesia Rosa de Saron located at 1005 E. 5th St., La Villa Texas from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. service. On Saturday morning, October 01, 2022 there will be a service at Iglesia Rosa de Saron in La Villa, Texas at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow to Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, Texas.
