Jaime Lugo

Weslaco, Tx. – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jaime L. Lugo, who departed this life on September 4, 2024 at the age of 71. Mr. Lugo was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart and passion for life.

Mr. Jaime Lugo was born on December 12, 1952 to Jose Angel Lugo and Juaquina Leiga in Doctor Arroyo in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Jaime spent his early years cultivating his love for cars. This passion led him to open his own body shop. His dedication for his craft earned him a reputation as one of the best in the business.

When Jaime wasn’t in the shop, he was enjoying his family time and his second passion fishing. Mr. Lugo enjoyed the tranquility of nature and the chaos of being a father of nine children. Mr. Lugo loved his children and later his numerous grandchildren. His family and friends will forever remember the countless stories, laughter, and love that he shared with them all.

Mr. Jaime is survived by his loving wife, Rosa María Lugo, children Lisa Lugo de Reyes (Ricardo), Javier Lugo (Yadira), José Ángel Lugo (Irma), Christina Lugo, Roberto Guzmán (Josefina Segura), Roel Guzman Jr. (Irene), Rodrigo Guzman (Karina), Priscilla Guzmán, Prisma Guzmán (José Zamarrón), 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Jaime is also survived by his Mother Juaquina Lugo, siblings Salomón Lugo, Catalina Márquez, Javier Lugo, Emma Lugo, María Magdalena Hernández, Antonio Lugo, Miguel Lugo, Rosalva Lugo, María de los Ángeles Lugo, and Alicia Lugo. Mr. Lugo is proceeded in death by his Father Jose Angel Lugo.  

A celebration of Mr. Jaime Lugo’s life will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home in Elsa, Texas. Mr. Lugo will also have visitation on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home in Elsa, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.
