Maria Santiaga Morones

Edcouch – Maria Santiaga Morones, 84, went to be with Lord, Friday, July 1, 2022 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas. Mrs. Morones was born July 25, 1937 in El Vergelito, Durango, Mx. to Narciso and Socorro Vargas. She is preceded in death her parents, husband, Leobardo Morones Rodriguez, children, Inez Morones de Leal, Francisco Morones and Samuel Morones. Mrs. Morones is survived by her loving children, Antonia Morones De Zavala, Apolinar Morones De Solis, Sebastian Morones, Gregorio Morones, Victor Morones, Cruz Morones De Lopez, Cornelio Morones, Maria De Jesus Morones, and Magdalena Morones De Ipina, siblings, Teresa Vargas, Francisco Vargas, Guadalupe Vargas and Gilberto Vargas. She is also survived by 43 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends and family Monday, July 4, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home 201 North Broadway in Elsa, Texas. Chapel service will take place Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, Texas. Interment will follow to Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch, Texas.   Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, Tx.
