Maria Inez (Arce) Valdez

Edinburg, Tx. – Mrs. Maria Inez Valdez passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Windsor Arbor View Nursing Facility in Edinburg, Texas. She was born on January 21, 1926 in Martinitos Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Genaro and Victoria Arce.

 Mrs. Valdez was a devoted wife, a homemaker, and a caring friend to many. She will be remembered as a beloved mother to her five children: Catarino Valdez, San Juana Gonzalez, Noelia V. Palomo (Salome), and Cornelio Valdez. Known affectionally as “Nena” by her family, Mrs. Valdez was the heart of her extended family. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren, all of whom she adored. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Valdez was preceded in death by her beloved husband Anastacio Valdez and daughter, Maria Rodriguez.  Her warmth, kindness, and passion for music brought joy to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

The Family of Maria Inez Valdez invites friends and family to celebrate her life with her visitation on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Eternal Light Funeral Home located in Elsa, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Maria Inez Valdez will have visitation on November 11, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:45 p.m. with a Chapel Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Weslaco, Texas at 2:00 P.M.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.
