Edinburg, Tx – – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a precious angel Baby Matthew Guadalupe González Rivera.

Baby Matthew Gonzalez was born on August 30, 2024 to Ashley Rivera in Edinburg, Texas. Matthew was a happy little boy who always had a big smile for anyone willing to smile at him. Matthew’s big brown eyes sparkled with joy at everything new and exciting in his short little life.

Although Matthew’s life was short, he loved playing with his siblings, learning to crawl and later little words. He was handsome, lovable and just a happy little boy.

Matthew leaves behind his mother Ashley Rivera, his siblings; Kayline Nicole Florez Rivera, Christian Alberto Flórez Rivera, Denali Adeline Bravo Rivera, Leilani Charlett González Rivera, Jasmine Juliette González Rivera.

We ask anyone attending to please respect the family wishes for no pictures or videos of baby Matthew’s services. The Family of Baby Matthew Guadalupe Gonzalez humbly invites family and friends to attend his visitation on November 11 from 9:00a.m to 2:30 p.m. with a Chaple Service at 2:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home in Elsa, Texas. Baby Matthew Guadalupe Gonzalez will have his interment at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, Texas at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.
