Elsa Tx. –Noel Vargas, 62, of Elsa, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 7, 1962 to Anastacio and Esperanza Vargas, Noel was a hardworking and dedicated man who built his own auto body repair shop business, serving his community with skill and integrity for many years. He had a deep passion for fishing, finding peace and joy on the water, whether alone or with those he loved.
He shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Norma, a bond built on love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising his 4 children and later being blessed with 12 grandchildren who became the light of his life. Being a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Noel will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and devotion to his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and hard work will live on in those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Vargas; children; Xavier Zavala (Melinda Oliverez), Melissa Vargas (Erica Reyna), Noel Vargas Jr. and Christopher Vargas, 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Mr. Vargas is also survived by his parents Anastacio and Esperanza Vargas, his siblings; Mary Ybarra, Eva Gomez, Adan Vargas and Cesar Vargas.
The Family of Mr. Vargas invites friends and family to celebrate his life with visitation on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home located in Elsa, Texas. Visitation will continue on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral home in Elsa, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa on Monday, February 3 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with internment to follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Weslaco, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.
