Elsa, Tx – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. San Juanita Rodriguez (Hernandez), who passed on Friday, January 2, 2026 peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

Juanita Rodriguez was born on February 12, 1946, to Santiago and Ramona Hernandez in Mercedes, Texas. Mrs. San Juanita Rodriguez was a devoted mother to her six children, whom she loved with all her heart. Mrs. San Juanita Rodriguez was also a seamstress which helped her make extra money for her family.

Juanita was known for her humble nature, her zest for life, and the love she had for people. Juanita's family was her world but she also had a love for her plants. Working in her garden gave her peace and she loved nature.

Juanita’s legacy of love, kindness, and family will forever be cherished and remembered.

Mrs. San Juanita Rodriguez is survived by her children; Manuel Rodriguez (Laura Sanchez), Debbie Rodriguez, Santiago Rodriguez (Kimberly Rodriguez), Eric Rodriguez (Daisy Garcia), Jesus Rodriguez Jr. (Liz Rodriguez), Maria Guadalupe (Lupita) Rodriguez, 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and siblings; Maria M. Castro, Delfina Hernandez, and Maria G. Cantu, who brought her endless pride and joy. Mrs. San Juanita Rodriguez is preceded in death by her Parents; Santiago and Ramona Hernandez, brothers; Domingo Hernandez, Jose Hernandez, Miguel Hernandez, sisters; Esmeralda Mireles, Josefina Vallejo and Maria J.  Ramirez.

Mrs. San Juanita Rodriguez would like to invite all family and friends to her visitation on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. San Juanita Rodriguez funeral mass will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with her interment to follow at Anahuac Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.
