Saul Rodriguez-Puga

Edinburg – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Saul Rodriguez-Puga, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on May 14, 2025 at the age of 75.

Mr. Saul Rodríguez- Puga was born on May 12, 1950 to Abel Rodriguez and Angela Puga in San Pedro De Roma, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

A true jack of all trades, Saul had a gift for working with his hands and a mind always tuned to solving problems. Whether it was fixing what was broken, building from scratch, or finding a way to make things work, he did it all—not for recognition, but for the people he loved.

He quite literally built the foundation of his family’s life—constructing their home with his own two hands. Every beam and board carry the weight of his love and dedication. He was a provider in every sense of the word, working tirelessly to ensure his family had what they needed and more.

To those who knew him, Saul was steady, humble, and strong. He didn’t need many words—his actions said everything. He taught us the value of perseverance, the satisfaction of honest work, and the importance of showing up for those you love. He took great pride in being a reliable and steady presence in the lives of those he loved.

Saul is survived by loving wife: Refugio Rodriguez, his children; Maria Delos Angeles Rodriguez, (Mario Lara), Martha Irene Rodriguez Garcia, Jose Miguel Rodriguez, Rosa Martina Rodriguez Garcia, Juan Ramon Rodriguez, (Mariana Coronado), Rosa Elena Rodriguez, Luis Angel Medina, Talia Medina, Blanca Estela Medina, 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, siblings; Eloisa Rodriguez, Beatriz Rodriguez Puga, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Esmeralda Rodriguez, Abel Rodriguez, and Luisa Elena Rodriguez.  Mr. Saul is preceded in death by his parents Abel and Angela Rodriguez-Puga.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Saul Rodriguez will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home, in Elsa, Texas with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Saul Rodriguez-Puga will be cremated at a later date.  Family and friends are invited to share their memories and to find solace in one another’s company as we remember his vibrant soul. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, Texas.
