Mercedes – Virginia C. Fuentes, 71, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her residence in Mercedes Tx. Mrs. Fuentes was born September 7, 1949 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mx. to Tomas Cuevas and Ernestina Rivera. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfredo Fuentes and brothers Jesus Cuevas and Aurelio Cuevas. Mrs. Fuentes is survived by her loving children, Janie (Tony) Rios, Ermina Fuentes, Alfredo Fuentes, Julio Fuentes, Ruben Fuentes, Alma (Martin) Estrada, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and siblings Juan Cuevas, Apolonia Cuevas and Francisca Cuevas.

Viewing for Mrs. Fuentes will be Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home 201 North Broadway in Elsa, Texas. Graveside Service will be Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Val Verde Memorial in Donna Tx.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, TX.
